Question About Prophetic Literature
I was curious as to whether anyone knew of any documents outside of the protestant OT canon which contain prophecies that were undisputably written after the event in order to seem authentic?

Many examples may be found throughout the OT. In Thomas Paines' Age of Reason he lists quite a few, many others do however exist. The "prophetic" book of Daniel has many problems with actual history. He apparently was unfamiliar with the people that were of his own time, this would lead one to the conclusion that it was written long after the timeline it's been given.
I don't have a Bible in hard copy right this moment, but can look up specific references if you'd like |

In the event that I misunderstood what you were asking,in the Doctrines of Covenant, (DOC) Joseph Smith, aka the founder of the Church of Latter Day Saints, most commonly referred to as " Mormons" has many after the fact revelations and nowhere prophecies.

Unfortunately, I think that I might have a little unclear as to what I was looking for in my first post. I'm looking for documents written around the time of OT Prophets, but that is not included in the modern day Bible.

Oh OK,
Check out a Catholic Bible, you'll find more tales in there. |
