Hmm, I thought that animal sacrifice in Judaism ended because their temple in Jerusalem was destroyed? I assume if it ever gets rebuilt (highly doubtful) then it will resume again, much to the dismay of PETA.

Will it all start back up when the Red Heifer Cult finds the jar of ashes it needs so they can purify themselves and re-start the sacrifices?

This represents an ignorance of the history of the Jewish people that borders on antisemitism.

The practice of sacrifice ended with the destruction of the Temple by the Romans. It had nothing to do with the myth of the rending of the Temple veil (for which we have only a xtian fantasy as a source) and the murder by the Romans, of one more Jewish dissenter.

Get your history straight before you start talking about other people's beliefs and practices.

I think being this ignorant of history and making a claim this idiotic in support of Christianity is about the worst thing you can do for your credibility. I think it'd be a good idea for PV to stop pretending he can even BEGIN to argue about this stuff. WOW is all I have to say.

and...

Dee dee dee!

Absolutely. I'm not Jewish but I can imagine how claiming that their ancient traditions were changed by a person they don't even revere is antisemetic (to an extent) because it's akin to saying "see, you know we're right but won't admit it... or else you'd sacrafuce animals still!"

The funny thing is, PV is so ignorant of the history he doesn't know they DID make sacrafices after he supposedly died on the cross.

I'm sure PV will say that the fact that the Jews are no longer able to make sacrifices due to the destruction of the temple proves god no longer needs them and thus proves Christianity is right. Actually, I think I did hear that one back in my Christian days.

The tearing of the temple veil account is used to justify many theological posistions, but within the actual text there is no commentary on it. Any metaphorical idea you want to make about is supported by nothing more than your own ideas.

Well, I guess I don't understand what rises to the level of 'antisemetic', is all. Sorry if I offended.
