So now John, after reading the above let me ask you a question:

Does that enrich your doubt?

I knew you'd show up. I also knew I wouldn't understand you when you did.

I'm trying to envision an enriched doubt.

No luck.

Exactly. In defense of those shepherds who seem to understand each very well (wich is shown by the continuity of their story), it is obvious that we do not understand them and maybe we are the goat herders gathered here to have an orgy among ourselves (goats anyone?).

Maybe it's just a bit closer to whole-wheat doubt?

Doubt with added calcium?

so are you saying that I was attacking the authors of the bible by saying they had a errous view of the universe? Just so you know I don't blame for their views . They didn't have the scienfic method we have today. I know we need to understand their worldview to interpret the bible. what you mean by goats and orgies I don't know.

Or, y'know, the people that wrote the Bible could just be a bunch of scientifically illiterate bushmen.

Indeed, I agreed that before we criticize them lets make sure we understand them like they understood each other.

The goats and orgies is a variant on us blaming them for 'doing' their own sheep when we gather to enjoy doing their sheep turned into goats when we interpret them wrong.
