Default Fairly stupid question

On another board, which is nothing similar to this one, someone posted something about there being an account of Jesus in China. First I have heard of this, but then I am also aware of the fact that my knowledge in this area is fairly lacking. Any idea where someone could have gotten this idea?

Even a search turned nothign up on this save this "argument":

"“Of course Jesus went to China! How the f**k you think that motherf***er learned Kung Fu?

:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

There is NOTHING in any credible text which talks about Jesus' "pre-ministry" life. Unknown is the verdict. Baseless speculation is all that is possible. Realistic speculation//reconstruction would concern things like "Jesus was circumcized on the eigth day" but not "Jesus went to china".

I would say EXTRMELY less reliable than first century gospels.

This work could never have any part in my own methodology as it is too far away in time from the period in question to be of any real use. Here is some of this nonsense:

Jesus probably passed through China on His way to Japan.

Thanks, Don. I'd forgotten about that religion. Do you think he went there before or after he pacified North America for the Mormons?

Hard to say, Vork. A case could be made either way. He may have visited Japan first, or North America first - but I'm not one to speculate without hard evidence!
