Who is righteous in Neh 9:8?
Question: Does this verse say that Nehemiah is calling God righteous, or does it say that God is saying that Nehemiah is righteous?
Neh 9:8 KJV: And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give [it, I say], to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou [art] righteous: |

Nehemiah is calling God righteous, for God has kept his promises to Israel.
God is not actually a speaking character in Ezra-Nehemiah, is he? Not like in the Pentateuch. |

I need to edit my original question (and there is no edit option on my opening post) Question: Do these verses say that God was righteous for choosing Abram abd giving him and his seed the lands of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites as a reward for Abram faithfully obeying God? Neh 9:7-8 KJV: Thou [art] the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give [it, I say], to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou [art] righteous: |

God has no righteousness about him without a him in Being except in Lord God, and thus Lord God is the One.

The reason I posted this thread was to establish that there was external support for the contention that Abram imputed righteousness to God for promising to deliver His promises enumerated in Gen 15:1-5.

Your argument and misreading is already known from the previous thread. It isn't getting any better.
Chili my friend, Onias is in desperate need of more of your help here. |
