Jesus Seminar draws one of its biggest crowds in Santa Cruz
By KIRSTEN FAIRCHILDS, Santa Cruz Sentinel

Professor Brandon Scott gives a lecture about Jesus, Politics, and... (Kevin Johnson/Sentinel)«12»SANTA CRUZ -- UC Santa Cruz junior Michelle Miller has questions about Jesus.

A self-described Christian, Miller would like to know why certain stories and parables were included in the Bible while others were not.

Miller:

"It makes it more believable for me when I think of Jesus as a person rather than an unobtainable Deity."

.
Unfortunately, for achieve truly to understand something of the humanity of Jesus, is absolutely necessary to address a research path totally different from the one faced so far. A research path no imagined by nobody scholar of the group of 'Jesus Seminar', despite their good will. It's the only research path that can really lead at the historical Jesus, because the current path, the one classic preparated 'ad-hoc' by the 'fathers' of the church about 19 centuries ago, leads inevitably to the only Jesus of the 'faith': a decidedly unlikely character, built 'ad-hoc' starting from the historical model. (just think that the historical Jesus was NEVER crucified, as he was stoned to death by the Jews, when he reached the age of 66 years, having been born in 6 AD and executed in Lydda around the 72 year)

Jesus Seminar draws one of its biggest crowds in Santa Cruz - San Jose Mercury News

The comment of Mrs. Acharya S:

Quote:

SNORE. So long as Jesus-mythicist studies are omitted from these conferences, such meetings will remain irrelevant. First establish that Jesus even existed before you discuss what he supposedly said or did. A handful of recycled sayings does not a person make.

Frankly, I do not know whether to laugh or 'cry' ... To the posterity such a difficult judgement ...

There are a myriad of historical evidences that make absolutely anachronistic all disquisitions on the alleged non-historicity of the personage Jesus of Nazareth ... Obviously, it is hard for those who have focused all them editorial fortunes on a macroscopic error to admit you were wrong ... History will judge ...
