Kelber's Els
JW:
For those who gladly hear the Truth, here is an Exxxcellent book outlining "Mark's" portrayal of The Disciples as Total Failures and the related Cookies: Mark's Story of Jesus by Werner Kelber which you can buy for less than The Chief Priests paid to get rid of Jesus once (and for all). It's a Simple, Straight-forward, Honest account which Demonstrates Peter/Satan & Disciples/Demons as The Opposition to Jesus. The Points Kelber makes: 1) Jesus, like The Blues Brothers, is on a Mission from God. 2) Jesus is filled with the Good Spirit at Baptism. 3) The Fight is between Jesus/GoodSpirit & Satan/BadSpirit 4) "Satan" is Opposition to Jesus. 5) Peter and The Disciples Oppose Jesus. 6) The Fight is over "Possession" of Men. For those who have ears to see and already excellent web sites concerning "Mark", let them add Kelber to their references. The 1st Sign of the end of ChristianiTees 1,000 year reign was Hawkins classic, Horae Synopticae, which proved that "Mark" was written first. This demonstrated that the Original Jesus Narrative had low Christology, lethal doses of non-Orthodox Assertians and a certain disregard for attempted Historicity. Kelber's book is the 2nd sign of The End as it proves that The/a major theme of "Mark" was to discredit The Disciples and specifically Peter as understanding/witnesses to Jesus. While I Am on the subject, in Bet Ehrancyman's latest, The Lost Gospel Of Judas Iscariot (or via: amazon.co.uk), LGJI, which deserves a Thread of its own here at II, Ehrman seems to have a position closest to Doug here, where Ehrman agrees with me that per the Narrative "Mark's" The Disciples are total failures, but "Mark" leaves clues that Jesus forgave Peter who was subsequently Restored in some way. Ehrman briefly points out that the LGJI is similar to "Mark" in that both show The Disciples as complete Failures. Joseph X-Uh-Jesus. Verb. A shortcut to Scriptural interpretation whereby all reaonable explanations are considered and The One Orthodox Christianity is most afraid of is taken. http://www.errancywiki.com/index.php/Main_Page |
