Default omniscience & omnipotence

Can somebody please point me to the verses that make these claims about God? OT, NT or Koran.

Thanks,
Jim

That's an interesting question.

My impression is that these concepts were developed after the bible was written. Probably they were in a modern form by 500-1100 CE.

Omnipotence is implied in several passages, but they are not completely developed.

Quote:
Jeremiah 32:17 (NKJV) 'Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Luke 1:37 (NKJV) "For with God nothing will be impossible."
Psalms 115:3 (NKJV) But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Isaiah 40:25-26 (NKJV) "To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?" says the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host ("the starry host" NIV) by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.
Daniel 7:14 (NKJV) Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.
There are a lot of comments about the harshness of the Hebrew God. Maybe he's annoyed because people keep asking him if he can build a rock he can't lift or what the last digit of pi is.

...and if he is both, does he possess the power to change his mind?

Revelation 19:6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
"Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns."

Hmm... is that figurative, literal, or merely honorific? I think we need more. Certainly he knows the past, after all he is the Judge. But what about the future? Perhaps we should ask Job?

I would try Isaiah or Psalms, lots of lofty descriptions in those books

Thank you all.

Now, what about the scriptural claims that God is omnipresent (always existed without a beginning)?

Also, are there scriptural claims that the writings are either the "word of God," divinely inspired, dictated, or that God "guided the hand" of the authors?

Or are these claims interpolations, conclusion jumping, church edict, etc.?

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

2 Timothy is politely referred to as pseudo-Pauline - meaning that it was forged in Paul's name.

Omnipresence actually means being in all places at once. The property of always existing would be eternality.

For omnipresence, there is Psalm 139.7-10. For eternality, there is the expression from everlasting to everlasting, found in verses such as 1 Chronicles 16.36.
