Default earliest bible versions?

this is kinda a spin off the Codex thread. I know there are 2-3 "codex" bibles and I'm dying to get my hands on a translation of these or whatever the most earliest translation might be, that I could compare it with a current king james version. Any ideas which the earliest translation might be and how I can get ahold of it?

Get a bible based on UBS4 (United Bible Societies, 4th edition), that will represent a good scholarly effort at getting to the earliest text. Some bibles that are based on UBS4 are NIV and RSV.

Here is some info. It is from a christian site and I only scanned it but it seems reasonable: http://ebible.org/bible/biblefaq.htm
