Default Death of JBap: Mark Reconciliable with Josephus?

Josephus says JBap was sent to Macherus. Mark 6:17 says Herod had imprisoned JBap and had JBap retrieved from prison for the beheading.

No conflict, right?

Actually he had a guard retrieve his head from prison in Mk 6:27. Ie he was despatched in prison, as per Josephus.

True, true. There is no conflict then. Thus fictionalization of the death of JBap by using Esther (the beheading of Vashti) as a hypotext stands alone.

What are your sources for saying that Vashti was beheaded ?

The Bible text would seem to imply Vashti was divorced not executed.

I agree. She could have been banished or at worst beheaded - but the text does not indicate. Vork? I hope you are reading this. That tips the scales in favour of MacDonald's hypotext over Esther.
