Just noticed there's a 4 part series on the book made in 2005. It's been airing on my local station in So. Calif. The final part is airing tonight and next week.

Here's a couple of brief descriptions.

Fortunately, I have found a DVD of the series.

The Bible Unearthed The Making of a Religion

Unfortunately, it costs $490.00.

I found it from a 4 part review of the DVD from a blog by Dr. Jim West.

The various reviews do answer a question I had of whether the book's conclusions were representative of archaeological "consensus" or whether it was a fringe theory. The writers are evidently legit archaeologists (Finkelstein has the bigger rep I believe) and the evidence they cite is largely undisputed, but there is still debate about the conclusions they are reaching from the evidence.

Unfortunately some of the disagreement is voiced with polarizing language.

$490?? holy moly. I've read the book and would love to see this series, but jeezus. Thanks for posting though. Hopefully they'll show it on the History channel or A&E at some point.
