Congratulations sotto. You have earned the very first negative rep I have ever given anyone in all the years I have participated on this Forum. |

Have you read these verses? Obviously Not.. Nor are you. Admit it you arrogant silly troll. We have page after page after page of what sacrifices are for what, what is burnt, what is eaten by greedy priests and on and on. but 8 bare mentions of marriage in all these Mosaical laws. Don't marry Canaanites. Quite useful Godly commands for today's Christians. Further more (and this just makes me laugh) numbers tells us that there were some 600,000 Israelites of fighting age, double that for boys and old men and double that for girls and women, and you get and that is about 2 1/2 millions. Now that is a lot of offerings for these fat pig priests to gobble up as their share. LEVITICUS 7 ‘These are the regulations for the guilt offering, which is most holy: 2 The guilt offering is to be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and its blood is to be splashed against the sides of the altar. 3 All its fat shall be offered: the fat tail and the fat that covers the internal organs, 4 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which is to be removed with the kidneys. 5 The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering presented to the Lord. It is a guilt offering. 6 Any male in a priest’s family may eat it, but it must be eaten in the sanctuary area; it is most holy. The offerings of 2 1/2 million israelites?! STUFF YOUR SELF SILLY YOU GREEDY BASTARDS! And despite the fact that there is plenty to go around the wimmin folk don't gits none! If you read the stuff people point you at, maybe you can stop looking so damned ignorant about these things. The bible is a silly book. Lots more in these chapters for the damned apologists to wrestle with, to deny, reinterpret, rolling their eyes, waggling their ears and waving their hands. Really much of it is very funny when you think about what is written in these chapters. And a tip of the hat to Col. Robert Ingersoll who laid all of this out in some rollicking and hilarious detail many years ago. Cheerful Charlie |

Uhhhhhhmmmmm 2 1/2 million Israelites offering these sacrifices and they BURN the kidneys and the livers? Vast huge piles of burning kidneys, kidney fat and livers? Boy that must have smelled GREAT! So if during a day, only 1000 such offerings were done, that would be 2000 beef kidneys burning and stinking. Try to imagine the blood of 500 - 1000 cattle being splashed on their steenky altar! Holy! Holy! Holy! How much blood does a cow contain? So to get a real experience of what it was like to be a real ancient Israelite priest, load up the bar-b-que grill with wood and burn a BIG pile of cow's kidneys and livers. And how long would it take to burn the kidneys and livers of say, 500 cows? Would it be possible to do that in one day so as to clear the way for the next day's sin offerings to be likewise burnt? ISN'T THEOLOGY FUN! "Yew people ain't thinking about this!" - Gallagher Cheerful Charlie |

Where is money mentioned? And you don't know, either, because you would have pointed it out days ago, instead of making facetious replies. It would have been pointed out, literally centuries ago, had there been such mention. And you have absolutely nothing to say here that is worth reading. Having broadband and a wild guess is not worth a fart. Nothing to say here, after your apologies. |

The Bible (TaNaKa) is ancient Jewish political propaganda. Its content no more true to actual history than the preachings of todays Creationist Televangelists or the politicians in their pockets.

Where the flaming hades did you get to money? ????????? Money as such was invented in 6th century BCE by the Greeks, and until then silver and gold were used but weighed out in shekels et al. Now in the OT, when the Israelites supposedly left Egypt, they despoiled their neighbors including taking jewelery gold and silver. Oh yes and cattle, for the livers and kidneys mind you. And just what happened to that stuff. Why the priest got it. to build the tabernacle. (Oh yes and the golden calf etc.) Tithing et al was done in kind, cattle, sheep, et al. Unless you had some gold or silver for the priests to glom on to. Tithing as a concept is first mentioned in genesis 14, coins (money) are hardly mention in the OT at all. I read back where this nonsense started with you and I am utterly unable to understand where you thought in any way or fashion i was ever writing about money. So, obviously in the context I was writing about I was not thinking about or writing about coins or money and it has nothing to do with any of this. I will be willing to discuss cow livers and kidneys with you though. How many burnt kidneys do you think God needs each day to keep him fat, sassy and happy? Quick, somebody ask William Craig Lane!
