Default Eucharist in John. What about Mark, Matt, Luke?

"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him" (John 6:53–56).

As far as I can tell this is the basis for the Catholic belief that they are literaaly eating Jesus Christ during communion.

What do the other gospels say on the matter?

Not exactly Jesus Christ but they are eating the body of Christ. "My flesh is real food" means that real food is the body of Christ. This transubstantiation must take place in the mind of the believer and this realization is for Catholics only, I agree.

Luke 22:

... (oops, no [bible] tags here)

[14] And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
[15] And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
[16] For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
[17] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
[18] For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
[19] And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
[20] Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

That's the relevant passage, anyway.

Yes, those are the metaphysics of Luke but you forgot to include the preparation for this meal that spells out the method of transubstantiation. In this, as I suggested, the food is taken from the conscious mind into the subconscious (they call this the upper room) to be changed into the body and blood of Christ. And of course, the lower house must be empty and remain empty to become the residence (kingdom) of God instead remaining the kingdom of 'like god' (who was the ego or first Adam from Gen.3). That is why 'like god' (the ego) must be crucified so the 'place' can be elevated to God and be united with Lord God.

John makes this simpler and leaves out the details to make it a good working Gospel for Catholics.
