Default How Could a 500-year old man not have any grandkids?

According to the Bible, Noah was over 500 years old when he and his family rode the flood out in the ark. Yet, he only brought three of his sons (and their wives) into the boat with him. How likely is it that after 500 years of life on the planet, Noah would have only three sons and apparently no daughters? Maybe he had more but, for some reason, they didn't rate passage on the ship. And how can an obviously fertile 500 year old man with obviously fertile married sons not have a single grandkid to show in all that time? It seems to me that 500 years is more than enough time to have at least a few grandkids running around. Whatever happened to "be fruitful and multiply"? Actually, many of the figures in the Old Testament (like Abraham) were the LEAST fruitful multipliers I've ever seen.

All this points out how ridiculous a fable the Noah story really is.

Their equipment didn't drop until they were at least a hundred years old. Shem was only a hundred when he had kids. He started younger than any of his predecessors. He was less than 100 years old when he went into the ark. Noah obviously started late by comparison.

Just think what it would do to your ego having spots for that long.

No, I think it's called acne. Brittish would refer to folks from Brittain. :Cheeky:

Well I suppose since you cannot understand this then it is a fable. :banghead: Wait a minute........is it possible that it is TRUE, and that you just do not understand it. Remember, we are living in a different time and culture. Surely you must be able to agree that it is AT LEAST possible that Noah did not have to have grandkids for this story to be true. I doubt the truth of this story is dependant on whether or not Noah had grandkids. Maybe his sons had not had sex yet. Who said they HAD to have sex right away. Maybe they wanted to wait awhile, you know, get settled in their careers, make some money and the like! Why do they have to rush things just to satisfy you????????????
