Following a thread in S&S concerning a recent National Geographic documentary on Moses, which made claims that the Exodus myth could be tied in with the Santorini volcanic event, what do you guys who are well informed about ancient middle eastern records think about that?

Also, are there records from non Jewish middle eastern records that are compellingly, or even plausibly, referring to this event and it's aftermath?
