Where was Jesus crucified?
Hebrews 13
11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Was Jesus crucified in the city that is to come, in the heavenly Jerusalem? |

If you go to Jerusalem, there are all kinds of markers covering the exact spots that Jesus graced with his presence. I think CNN was on hand to record it all -- too bad there was no photography around back then.

Quote:
Statement 1 Sacrificial Animals are burned outside of the (earthly) holy city. Corollary 1 Hence Jesus also died outside of the (earthly) holy city. Corollary 2 Therefore followers of Jesus should like him leave the (earthly) holy city and what it represents. Explanation of Corollary 2 Followers of Jesus are not looking for a city in this world/age but for one in a world/age that is to come. Andrew Criddle |

jesus was crucified and buried in jerusalem
most likely somewhere (or near) where the church of the holy sepulchre sits. it was outside the city gate at the time. the garden tomb was not the site of the crucifixion or burial of jesus. ask them... even the garden tomb staff will tell you if pressed. it is pretty, but not it.
but yes, on earth. |
