Default Who here has studied Greek?

I posted another thread recently, and I needed to find out if we had any proficient people who were capable of translating English text to Greek or vice versa. Even if you're not a hard-core student, then should suffice. Please let me know. Thanks

I Can read and write but vocabulory still primitive. Very primitive. That good?

Same here, except my main fault is vocabulary and the declensions of words. There's so many possibilities. Of course, I learned Attic first, and not Koine, but I know enough for the basics.

Derail: I finally get to teach Latin! My professor just graduated Graduate School and she needs me to teach her Latin so that she can go get her doctorate. Anyone have an idea on what I should charge? Keep in mind that she is only one of those part-time professors, so she doesn't have a lot of money.

If you are male and single, and she is single and sexy, just teach her and tell her to pay you whatever she thinks you have earned :devil3: .

I didn't know Vork knew Greek. Maybe he'll read this thread. Are you able to give the Greek meaning to a few passages?

Like Hell. In my lessons, I started with: En arch hn o logoV, kai o logoV hn proV ton qeon...:

In the beginning was the word and the word was with God...

The fun part was the mnemonics: Every Bigot Gets Diarrhea Eventually...

Still looking for a simple way to write the Greek in Unicode at IIDB - you notice the breathing marks are missing...I have Greek-English Lexicons but I dont think I am your man: too Green.

Edited to fiddle with the Greek toys

Kirby explains you how.

But I actually do something simpler. Just use a Unicode editor (Word works), and enter the accented characters using something like Keyman. Then copy-paste into the edit window for your post here in IIDB. Ῥᾴδιόν εστι.
