True that. At least we all seem to agree that religion causes conflict.

That's right. Jesus said, I will turn daugher against mother, and father against son. He knew his word would cause conflict in households. These words haven't really been accurate until our generation. Christianity is tearing families apart from their households. This is all signs of the end times.

I thought daughters and mothers always had some issues like fathers and sons. For that matter the fact that they had biblical laws on disobedience indicates this was not absent even in those days. Or are you saying that it is just a sign of the end times? I would say husband against wife is more like it, considering the divorce rate. The conflict between children and parents is a bit more in the US because of the culture. Maybe this is an indication the US is the most Christian country.

I take it you're not a history buff.

No, the sign of the end times would be our sun going supernova as it begins its death spiral in several billion years. Otherwise our species will continue unless we deliberately annihilate each other, which is not God's will imho.

People who wish for the end of the world are sick imo, it's close to some kind of death-wish, reinforced by fantasies of afterlife.

Well, wishing for the end of the world as we know it is a sort of anti-establishment fantasy.

It's a twisted anti-social revenge fantasy, complete with special effects. Anyone who takes Revelation literally is a borderline psycho imo.

Jesus also said he's not a divider (gThomas 72). So which version of Jesus is true? Or was Jesus just some bi-polar maniac?

This is the problem, there's more than one Jesus if one reads the gospels honestly, a flavour for everyone apparently
