This is probably the best net tutorial about the Big Bang Theory:

Further explanation: the "afterglow" is light. Light from a black body, when "chilled" to 3K, manifests itself as microwave radiation.

Big Bang? Creation? Both bollocks if you ask me!

Everyone knows that the entire universe was sneezed from the nose of a being called the Great Green Arkleseizure...

BEWARE THE HANDKERCHIEF!!!

Oh, and Bless You!

These are not contradictory.

It seems we have made extraterrestrial contact with the people of Viltvodle VI!

Oh, um, oops. I don't have anything to add to the discussion .

Yes, and the aerosol market will never be the same!

But I did have a point. If you are going to say "God" created the universe, why is that any more or less believeable than saying a giant sneezed it, or gods (plural) made it, or whatever...

If the God hypothesis has equal validity with the Big Bang, then why not the Sneeze hypothesis as well?

Wonko is making a good point here, though I prefer the IPU, bless her holy hooves.

Even changing the creation idea to include every deity, it would still have to explain why all evidence points to the universe/space being (in) an incredibly small volume at some point.

If we're discussing the "sneeze theory," what about the "Big Splat?"

Sorry.
