D'oh, I stand corrected. It's still a collection of "silly stories", but I wouldn't want any kids of mine reading the bible, at least not until they're mature enough I feel comfortable with them watching R-rated movies.

For most of its history Christianity was the STATE religion. The State sanctioned non-conformists and treated them as being deserving of mal-treatment. If that isn't political, what is?
