Whatever they want. Atheists don't all believe the same thing. We're not a monolithic entity, you know. The only thing that unites all atheists together is a lack of belief in god or gods.

Way too broad of a topic for this forum. You want some help narrowing it down? We can probably come up with a suitable list of potential topics.

We can safely say that no atheist believes that the Bible is the word of God. That's about all.

Well, my dad for example, had sometimes big doubts about his atheism, and would even go to church (his family were Jewish converts to Catholicism) at times in hope that this manifest of sincere confusion on the question of God's existence, would molify the Omnipotent, in case he did exist. Hid approach to Bible was equally ambivalent: he told me when I was eleven and brought home the news of evolution (we lived in communist Czechoslovakia), that it is possible that Adam and Eve were in fact Neaderthals.

I consider it to be a collection of fables/legends/myths mixed with mistical texts, poetry, some philosophical insights and some historical records (which in some cases might be accurate and in other inaccurate).

This atheist thinks that the bible makes some ridiculously absurd claims. For example:

Sort of a latter-day Aesop's Fables, but without the charm and wit. And more bloodshed. Just my opinion, of course.
What a horrible first post. I am chagrined. |

For all intents and purposes, it's just a storybook that certain people never grow out of believing. It's sad, really.
