Default It's a miracle

Why did Moses and Jesus (and the apostles) find it necessary to use miracles to convince people they were onto something special and divine?
What happened between now and then?
Why no miracles that we can test with science nowadays?

Why do we get short changed in this day and age? No cool miracles to persuade us? I feel cheated.

Miracle claims abound, even today. Lots of them in charismatic or Pentecostal circles in advanced countries, and many more in third-world countries.

Miracle claims abound, but nobody has collected Randi's one million dollars.

I can move this to GRD, unless there is a historical aspect to discuss.

One who is canonized must have at least three significant miracles connected to them. John Paul II canonized more folks than anybody. So, there's plenty of miraculous claims out there. People still report tons of miracles coming by way of St. Bernadette. Why not take a look at some of them?

Why don't you post some of them? In addition, why don't you tell us why God performs miracles? What does God have against amputees? Why doesn't he ever give an amputee a new limb, at least as far as we know? Possibly so more people will not believe in him?

OK. So you believe that saints have the power to create miracles? Those I've heard sound pretty weak compared to what Moses and Jesus did. Also, the number of miracles appears to be diminishing. Is the power behind it all evaporating? What are some of these astounding feats of ominpotence? Making a statue cry?

If god found it necessary to create miracles to convice people of his power back in the day, why not here and now? I would love to be convinced. I still feel cheated.

I take it all back. I found evidence I was wrong.

"Risa, 12, was born with the lobes of her brain separated, supposedly preventing her from walking and talking normally. She was healed when she was placed on the tomb of Saint Marie Eugenie.

In Malta, seven-year-old Eric Catania received the miracle from Giorgio Preca, who together with Marie Eugenie, Syzmon Lipnicy and Karel Van Sint Andries Houben were canonized by Pope Benedict XVI at St. Peter's Square Sunday.

Catania was diagnosed with a liver ailment when he was baby. He was brought to London for an operation but they said he could not be cured, according to journalist Steve Mallia of the Times of Malta.

Catania was healed when the gloves that were used to lift the body of Preca was placed on his belly. This became the second miracle for Preca that made him qualified to become a saint."

I never believed in any Type of miracle until I saw John Travolta resurrected in Pulp Fiction.
