"Paul" on Timothy
1 Timothy 1-3, "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our saviour, and the Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope,
Unto Timothy,.......... And I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine." 2 Timothy 1.2-5, " To Timothy......... I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day......when I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois and thy mother Eunice ......" From the Pauline epistles it appears that Timothy is a close acquaintance of "Paul", he made mention of Timothy in his epistles to the Corinthians, Colosians, Thessalonians and Philippians, yet Biblical scholars claim there are problems, the "Paul" of Timothy appears to be different to the "Paul" of other Pauline epistles. Now, who would forge an epistle to a close freind and partner in the ministry of the gospel while the friend and the purported "Paul" is still alive? "Paul" appears to be ready die in 2Timothy 4.6-7, "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course....." Did "Paul' try to fake his death? And only "Luke" would be his witness, 2 Timothy 4.11, "Only Luke is with me......" |

And which "Paul" would that be? So many "Pauls"! I don't think they are real anymore. |

And I don't know the status of the author of Galations, sometimes I think he is the author of Acts and at other times I think he is an impersonator. |
