Default Had Christians seen a resurrected Jesus?

1 John 3:2
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

I thought 1 John was supposed to already know what a resurrected body was like - to have touched this resurrected body.

But here the author claims not to know what we will become.

Aren't we going to be resurrected like the body that Christians claim was touched by the disciples?

And yet NT writers flat out deny having any knowledge of what Christians will become?
