The Lord's 10 Commandments tell the Hebrews Thou Shalt Not Steal and Thou Shalt Not Kill.

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 The Lord commands that the correct punishment for a stubborn son is to have him stoned to death.

Deuteronomy 22:28,29 The Lord commands that the correct punishment for a man who rapes a virgin is to require him to marry her.

II Kings 18:4 Hezekiah destroys Nehushtan the brazen serpent Moses created and worshipped.

I Chronicles 22:10 The Lord says that Solomon is his son.

Isaiah 45:7 The Lord proudly proclaims that He is the creator of evil.

Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears. (I believe the opposite is chiseled in stone at the United Nations building)

Exodus 15:3 The Lord is described as a "Man of War".

Matthew 10:34 Jesus says that He does not come to bring peace but instead the sword.

Luke 22:36 Jesus tells his followers to sell their garments in order to buy swords.

Matthew 10:35,36 and Luke 12:51-53 Jesus says that He has come to divide family members against each other.

Luke 14:26 Jesus tells his followers they must HATE all the members of their families if they are to follow him.

Luke 20:35 Jesus tells his followers to not get married.

Luke 16:18 Jesus says that anyone who remarries is commiting adultery.

Matthew 11:19 and Luke 7:34 Jesus is described as being a glutton and drunkard.

Luke 4: 28,29 The people of Nazareth try to throw Jesus off a cliff, but he escapes from them.

Matthew 10:5,6 Jesus tells his followers to stay away from the gentiles and talk only to the Israelis.

Matthew 15:24 Jesus says He is sent to help only the Israelis.

Matthew 6:6 Jesus says that the correct way to pray is to do it alone in your closet.

John 5:31 Jesus says He lies.

John 6:54 Jesus tells his followers that if they become cannibals they will have eternal life.

Matthew 1:6-16 geneology conflicts with Luke 3:23-31 geneology.

Matthew 2:13-15 itinerary conflicts with Luke 2:22-39 travel.

Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27, Luke 21:32 Jesus says that some who He is speaking to will still be alive when the Kingdom of God arrives and all that He has spoken of will have been fulfilled.

And? 30 cubits is 45 feet.

Quote:
Genesis 7:20 Flood waters rose 15 cubits (approx. 20 feet)
The highest mountains were covered with 20 feet of water, not 20 feet of water total.

Quote:
Exodus 3:22, 11:2, 12:35 The Lord tells Moses to have the Hebrews steal the Egyptians gold and silver jewelry before leaving Egypt.
This is referring to what the Egyptians owe the Israelites for their forced labor. Read dueteronomy 15:12-14. Its wrong to do work or a service for someone without them offering something in return. Thats what this is stating, that the Egyptians will give over jewels to the Israelites before they leave after the Pharaoh lets them go. It is not stealing.

Quote:
Exodus 12:12, 12:29, 13:15 The Lord murders the firstborn of the Egyptians.
And your point? The Pharaoh ordered the death of all male hebrew babies. God was casting judgement on Egypt and as the perfect judge, had every right to kill the firstborn.

Quote:
Exodus 32:27 The Lord tells the Levites to slay every man his brother.
Judgement for breaking the commandment against idolatry.

Quote:
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 The Lord commands that the correct punishment for a stubborn son is to have him stoned to death.
Violation of another commandment, and in that day a sign of wickedness within the child. Both parents had to agree to the sentence. This is not modern day, stop acting like it is. Culture was extremely different 3000 years ago and harsh punishments were a necessity.

Quote:
Deuteronomy 22:28,29 The Lord commands that the correct punishment for a man who rapes a virgin is to require him to marry her.
In those days, this was to protect the girl. The concept of raping a wife didn't exist, and divorce was a capital crime so the rapist had to protect and take care of his wife or face death. Again, different time period, stop applying it to modern day.

Quote:
I Chronicles 22:10 The Lord says that Solomon is his son.
We are God's children, whats your point?

Quote:
Isaiah 45:7 The Lord proudly proclaims that He is the creator of evil.
The hebrew word means calamity, not moral evil. God can cause disaster and calamity as a judgement, but this is not referring to the evil we think of when we hear the word.

Quote:
Matthew 10:35,36 and Luke 12:51-53 Jesus says that He has come to divide family members against each other.

Luke 14:26 Jesus tells his followers they must HATE all the members of their families if they are to follow him.
God should be the highest focus in your life, above everyone else. Jesus doesn't mean actually hate your family, only love Him above all.

Quote:
Luke 20:35 Jesus tells his followers to not get married.
No he doesn't tell them not to get married, He says in our ressurected state we will be like the angels and don't marry.

Quote:
Luke 16:18 Jesus says that anyone who remarries is commiting adultery.
Divorce is a sin except in cases of infidelity. If you divorce your spouse on any other grounds and remarry, you have committed adultery.

Quote:
Matthew 15:24 Jesus says He is sent to help only the Israelis.
Jesus' missions was for the Jews, not the Gentiles. Now is the time for salvation of the Gentiles, but despite Jesus' specific mission for the Jews, He still helped the Gentile woman.

Quote:
Matthew 6:6 Jesus says that the correct way to pray is to do it alone in your closet.
It means do it in private and do not pray in public. Prayer is between you and God, and no one else.

Quote:
John 5:31 Jesus says He lies.
No, He says self testimony isn't valid. He gives 5 different forms of testimony all of which are needed to be a valid account.

Quote:
John 6:54 Jesus tells his followers that if they become cannibals they will have eternal life.
Its a metaphor referring to taking in Jesus' being wholly. Its referring to wine and bread as symbolic. This would be the Eucharist, but what an obnoxious comment for you to say Jesus tells them to be Cannibals. I see your only purpose here is to mock.

Quote:
Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27, Luke 21:32 Jesus says that some who He is speaking to will still be alive when the Kingdom of God arrives and all that He has spoken of will have been fulfilled.
As this has been brought up countless times, you should know what it means by now. But no, Jesus did not say until the Kingdom physically comes, He says until some of them standing there see it. Both Peter and John saw the Kingdom of God in a vision.

Now could you please stop with the stupid questions? All the above shows is that you have never bothered to study the Bible, only find verses that you can criticize while remaining ignorant.

And it was God that made the need for that punishment in the first place. Last I checked, Pharoh was going to let Moses do what he wanted, but God wouldn't let Pharoh do that because then God couldn't show off to the Egyptians. Exodus 11:9-10 "And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land."

That's not judgement, that's God deciding he wants an excuse to kill people and show off and then making a situation where he will be able to justify doing so. What a petty and oh-so-human God you worship.

Yeah. It seems as though Moses wrote the bible to make himself the object of worship.

Tell me, Magus:

If a pair of cops raided the house of one of your neighbors, dragged an infant's cot out on to the front lawn, tipped the baby out, and blew its brains out: would you lodge a complaint with the appropriate authorities, or would you just shrug and say "they're the law, and I'm a law-abiding citizen, so that's OK, and I assume the kid's parents did something really bad"?

Do you agree with the general principle of punishing innocents for the crimes of others?

I'm curious to know if your "morality shutdown mode" applies to authority-figures in general, or only to the alleged actions of your God.

Yeah. That's why YHWH, when he was handing down the Law to the Israelites, included strict prohibitions against the practice of slavery.

Stoning children was OK because it was 3000 years ago? How anyone can be so delusional as to accept such brutality is beyond me. And they say atheists have no morals. That's it, I'm done with his thread. Magus won't answer my question anyway.

To Magus, no one is innocent, so it's A-OK to punish anyone for anything, at any time.

Default to Magus and hope's daughter

I'm still waiting for the scriptures where Jesus asserts that he is God. Not apologetical scriptures about him being "the way", but where he asserts being divine.
