Right on!!

The more obedient one is, the more like Abraham who was willing to kill his own son for god, the greater will be our reward.

If we refuse to kill a loved one when ordered by god, then it's Outer Darkness, for ever, and ever, and ever.

You call that not being obedient. I call it refusing to grovel.

You do feel that Abraham was doing the right thing when he obeyed his god, don't you?

I look forward to your answer.

Reminds me of an ancient British advert - graded grains make finer flour.

(I left 144k out because that alone creates more arguments than trying to count angels on pinheads - but that is a myth wasn't it?)

(Is it Lilith who was yahweh's consort or is it someone else? I love the concept of the transgendered holy spirit!)
Lilith was Adams first wife. He got rid of her for wanting to be on top. I'm sure someone will not post a link to the former discussion with photos of Lilith.

Yahweh's wife was Astarte, Asherah, Ishtar and possibly Ashtoreth depending upon what time period in Canaanite history one looks at. There are also several other names for the goddess in neighboring cultures.

Which a myth, 144K or angels on pinheads? I would say neither is a myth any more than the Jesus of Nazareth story.

Wasn't the idea that there were arguments about the number of angels on pin heads made up later on?

The Holy Spirit as god's consort....

On behalf of Christians everywhere, thanks for letting us know where you brilliant geniuses stand!
Your welcome PMC, your inability to refute a single thing I've said is a good indication that you can't. I accept your surrender.

She's often depicted in the older renderings as a beautiful woman with wings and the feet of a bird. If I recall, babylonian lillin were originally storm spirits who later became night spirits, both male and female. They were the forerunners of the incubi and succubi legends.
Genesis 1 also mentions "the spirit of God". Are there any connections with Lilith? Any relationship to Dove? There seems to be with owl. Is the dove in one of the Noah stories related to the holy spirit?

Now, where did the stories come from originally? I have no real clue, except to note the tantalizing fact that a woman (although in most representations I’ve seen she has the hips, legs, and wings of a bird) called Lilith is a minor figure in the ancient Sumerian poems and stories of Inanna, in which she symbolizes, of all things, unbridled sexuality (see Inanna: Queen of Heaven and Earth, Wolkstein and Kramer). Given the influence of Sumerian myth on the creation of Jewish scripture and specifically Genesis (Gligamesh and the flood story, et al) this is probably significant with regards to the Jewish version of Lilith, but I am no scholar of such things and probably don’t know what the hell I’m talking about. Figured it was worth mentioning though.
