who is the yashua guy who may have influenced jesus stories?
I think he taught earlier than jesus was supposed to have taught, I dont know his name, its yashua ben or something like that..... ring a bell?

Yeshua is the Aramaic name that was translated into Greek as Iesous, which was subsequently translated into English as "Jesus." Yeshua means Jesus.

I think that the Talmudic Yeshu is a reaction to the Christian Jesus, not a source. But there are people who think that the Yeshu stories go back to an earlier time. There is no firm evidence one way or the other.
