I could only read bits and pieces. I read all of genesis and wished I had that time of my life back. That was a waste.

I've read the entire Bible, and the Gospels several times. Even as a Christian, I couldn't stand the figure of Jesus, but I couldn't admit it even to myself since I was supposed to love him with all my heart.

And yet I gather that by the standards of his time and place, he was one of the more inclusive fellows, after his conversion and all.

I do remember as a christian reading Paul's books and thinking he was really horrible. It's all about him, he whine's like a little girl about how good he is and how he didn't take anthing from people, and that you shouldn't get married. Dude had problems. Sadly though I was so brainwashed I remember thinking there must be something wrong with me because I wasn't understanding him.

:rolling: I believe I once referred to Paul as a "misogynistic control freak" or something along those lines. Seeing as once the scales had fallen from my eyes and all that, it was pretty obvious that he was. "Better to marry than to burn"? Sounds like a guy who couldn't get any if I ever heard it. |

"You are not respecting my AUTHOR-ITAY!" = Paul (or someone...) Good point, QoS. Seems like Paul had a bit of a god-complex in addition to numerous other issues. |
