Default Need Help

Someone on another board said that the Dead Sea scrolls predate previously known Biblical manuscripts by over 1000 years and this is evidence that the Bible is true. I'm wondering what the people on this board think about this.

A thousand years is about right; I think the earliest of the fragments dates to the 2nd century BC.

There is, however, no New Testament text to be found, so I do not know why one should be surprised that there are extremely old examples of Jewish documents which describe traditions already known to be extremely old.
