I will note that political correctness reared its ugly head one more, when Mel Gibson was forced to remove the cheery, upbeat song from the original ending of 'The Passion of the Christ' to avoid offending Brian-devotees.

What to do for raise-on-dead-day...hmmm. I DO like the mowing and general yardwork idea. I think it may be a good idea to clean out the garage and do some work with a die grinder or two. Of course, die grinders and Dremel tools make a lot of noise, so I'm going to have to turn up my stereo. I'll play Godsmack first and then maybe a little Dio...then some Megadeth and then wrap it up with Metallica. I'll start at sunrise. This way, my work will drown out all the irritating church bells that will disrupt me all morning.

I think I'll smoke a turkey too...all day..no, really, smoke a turkey in the BBQ.

I will leave the joyfilled person alone. He obviously knows what's in MY mind, let alone God's, but I will leave him alone so as to not bring down the festiveness.

I'm celebrating by watching Dogma on Nail Day and Last Temptation of Christ on Divine Zombie Day.

The only appropriate seasonal joke I know involves a visual and I'm not sure how well it works in writing.

Why are more women attending church these days?

[arms stretched out]

They heard there was a guy there who is hung like this.

Two drink minimum. Please remember to tip your waitress.

Considering all that male competition, to actually get a weekday all her own, and still have her name stamped on the two holiest christian days, she must have been one honkin' babe.

The former will lead to death, the latter to life. It's your choice. No one else can do it for you.

Most atheists have said; "How can i be angry at something i don't believe exists?" Their behavior and desire to mock Jesus and God, however, tells a different story. You have finally at least been honest about your anger. Many atheists still can't do that yet.
Your angry at...eeer scratch pop....why do you mock....eeer scratch pop....he died for you sins...eeer scratch pop.... :boohoo:

Certainly no one would have an interest in history, philosophy, sociology, archeology and how they all interelate. Of course we must all hate ourselves and the guy above the pin holes in the dome above the sky. Remember one must remain solomn at all times, and deprive oneself of earthly pleasures. For how else could we know what he did for us. Yes, it must be true I must be depraved. I certainly couldn't have any intellectual interests with like minded people. Yes, I must reject reason, logic, knowledge, for they just deceive me... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Mark 16:17 These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.

I haven't seen much of this in the modern age, other than Jim Jones. Gee that didn't got to well did it...

Awww, don't be too harsh on Joyfilled. Sad, isn't it? Joyfilled doesn't sound too joy filled. But this is the festive season, so put away the attitude, don't attack the Joyfilleds of the world with the usual harsh reality. Let them live in happy illusion for the duration of the festival. Fill your glass, raise a cheer and sing . . .

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble, give a whistle!
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And....always look on the bright side of life!
Always look on the bright side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten!
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing,
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps,
Just purse your lips and whistle -- that's the thing!

And... always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...

For life is quite absurd,
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow!
Forget about your sin -- give the audience a grin,
Enjoy it -- it's the last chance anyhow!

So always look on the bright side of death!
Just before you draw your terminal breath.

Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true,
You'll see it's all a show,
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you!

And always look on the bright side of life...

-------------

"There were NO kangaroos at our Lord's last supper!"

"What about on leashes? I can put them on leashes."

"No! There were no kangaroos, PERIOD. Our Lord dined with only his disciples at the table. There were NO animals present. Furthermore, there was only one Christ, not two!"

"But with two the balance is nicer ... it allows the eye to roam over the canvas. Do you really want me to paint one of them out?"

What a load of bollix, as they say in the silly isles.

Well, not to get bogged down in a useless debate or anything, but you yourself admit this sort of mockery is "misuse". Now I myself don't mind whatever you feel you have to say on the issue--I suppose if you were to mock, say, Hercules, I would not have much of an objection. But the question was a sincere one, and surely you're not doing yourself or your cause any favors by answering it with more mockery. Not to be a nag or anything...

Tell that to the two dead children (and the one surviving 18 month old) who's mother beat to death with a stone in my state. They would understand.
This sort of example is predictably tiresome by now. A judge and jury determined that she was insane. It's ridiculous to claim that she made a thoughtful decision to murder her children based on her religion.

It's not as though religion somehow convinces people to go insane...people simply go insane, whether they are religious or secular. Murder is sometimes the result of insanity, and the insane will justify the murder using whatever means are available to them--again, whether religious or secular.

Bro cave, you are not in the festive spirit for this thread. If you can't enjoy it with us, perhaps you could find yourself a cross where you can put yourself up until it's over.

Oh, and it will soon be time to play bury the saviour.
