Default Temptation

If God does not allow people to be tempted beyond their means to resist (1 Corinthians 10:13) then why do people still give in to temptation, Christians included? To my mind this creates an unresolvable problem.

Nah, just look under "Sin" Just because you have the ability to resist doesn't mean you are going to resist.

This sounds like the new age-y canard that God does not give you more problems than you can handle. Demonstrably untrue, but sometimes a useful thing for people to tell themselves.

The real problem is that the God of the Bible not only allows people to be tempted, but sometimes hardens their hearts so they do the wrong thing.
