How can we know what the authors of the Bible really wrote?
What did the 'original text' of the Bible look like?
The discipline of Textual Criticism attempts to answer questions of this nature by delving into and comparing the ancient manuscripts that are 'witnesses' to the 'original text'. If you care to learn more about this fascinating field of ancient languages, writing, and manuscripts, then come check out a new forum at the Ebla Forum in which I will be leading a book review / "mini-course" in Biblical Textual Criticism starting in just a couple of weeks. Check out the introductory threads in the Biblical Text Criticism Forum in the 'Book Club' section at the Ebla Forum to learn more. |
