I was told by many of you that i could not use the Bible to prove the Bible true thus you cannot use the Bible to prove your false idea that the Bible teaches the world is flat.

That is a double standard. Please use what you demand of me: legitimate scientific evidence, archaeological evidence and so on to make your case and be ready to provide solid legitimate evidence that the ancient world thought that the world was flat.

Please practice what you preach.
But, what you have posted is just so illogical.

We are dealing with what is in the Bible. Please look at the OP.

Please look at the question "Does the BIBLE teach that the earth is flat?"

It is most obvious that it must be the information found in the BIBLE that must be examined.

That is just wrong and a weak attempt to maintain the argument that the Bible teaches the world is flat. sorry but God canuse the language He wants, metaphors and examples andit is not teaching what you say.

Also, see this post, in which I quote from the Babylonian Talmud and Louis Ginzberg's The Legends of the Jews, both of which demonstrate that Joshua 10 was interpreted as a literal stopping of the sun.
So? They spoke as they viewed it just like you get up before dawn and say ' i hope the sun rises soon' or 'when will the sun rise'. Your double standard is clear.

The responses given by you are the reason why i have stopped providing you with much. For rational, open minded people, you certainly are closed minded and irrational.

If you do not like Christianity and the Bible so much--why do you spend your time discussing it (falsely of course)? if ti was a false as you say, then it is no threat to you and you should not give it a moment of your time. Yet you spend 24/7 attackingit and those who believe in it--doesn't that tell you something?

it tells me that 1. the Bible is true; <edited>

i wonder if bigotry anger and hatred are as obvious to the bearer thereof as they are to everyone else.

Or for that matter, the lack of humility. Thinking that one has the exclusive on being guided to inerrant interpretation with the creator of the unvierse guiding... that aint humble at all.

One more thought. jealous of believers? No. I am appalled by them.

At laast by this kind.

[STAFFWARN]Okay everyone, enough with the personal comments. You know the Terms of Use, and if you don't, it wouldn't be a bad time to refresh your memory.

Stick to addressing the content of the post, not making comments about the motivations, intelligence or other traits of the person making the post.[/STAFFWARN]

If that is true, then you cannot attack any other religious book by using the book, and you cannot attack books on evolution either.

What if some Christian and Hebrew scholars agreed with my arguments? I have read that most Christian scholars who are not fundamentalist scholars believe that the Bible teaches that the earth is flat. Surely you must have attacked other religious books.

Consider the following from the opening post:

The word "firmament" appears in the King James version of the Old Testament 17 times, and in each case it is translated from the Hebrew word raqiya, which meant the visible vault of the sky. The word raqiya comes from riqqua, meaning "beaten out." In ancient times, brass objects were either cast in the form required or beaten into shape on an anvil. A good craftsman could beat a lump of cast brass into a thin bowl. Thus, Elihu asks Job, "Can you beat out (raqa) the vault of the skies, as he does, hard as a mirror of cast metal (Job 37:18)?"

The Hebrew word raqiya appears five times in Ezekiel, four times in Ezekiel 1:22-26 and once in Ezekiel 10:1. In each case the context requires a literal vault or dome. The vault appears above the "living creatures" and glitters "like a sheet of ice." Above the vault is a throne of sapphire.... Seated on the throne is "a form in human likeness," which is radiant and "like the appearance of the glory of the Lord." In short, Ezekiel saw a vision of God sitting throned on the vault of heaven, as described in Isaiah 40:22.
The Hebrew word raqiya, and the related word riqqua, are used extensively enough in the Old Testament the same way to conclude that the Bible teaches that the earth is flat.

You have made posts in lots of threads in several forums. Since you could not possibly have enough expertise to adequately discuss everything that you have objected to, your only argument is essentially that the Bible is inerrant, but you have not provided any evidence that the Bible is inerrant. You have accused skeptics of not being willing to consider alternative possibilities, but are you willing to consider the alternative possibility that a global flood did not occur? No, but yet you want skeptics to do what you are not willing to do.

I'm satisfied. I enjoyed Arch for about a minute. Then he turned mean and insulting, and well, who needs that?
