Original
I wonder if different ways of thinking are being used here.
I am I suppose quite russian dollish, post modern, in that I always want to split the atom, look at alleged originals and see how they came into being. I think in terms of context - what is the history of this "original", what is its context, what other things are similar. I experience a universe where it is unclear there is anything original. Energy and mass are interchangeable, H2O has solid, liquid and vapour states dependent on other factors. It is an interdependent evolving universe. Are there any originals or is everything an example to fit into a context? Is not thinking in terms of originals anthropomorphic and human centred? Sociology uses the ideas of labels. Calling something an original gives it a significance it may not have. |

Nietzsche, arguably the first post-modern philosopher, argued that "there is no original text". This has obvious application to the subject matter of this forum.

The Catholic Church was Infallible long before Nietzsche came along and still is in charge of its own destiny . . . moving its world in the original.
