See John, I can now take you to the rich man's parable where it says that "you (impersonal) were well off in your lifetime" while Lazarus was in misery unto which the sun stopped. It is no secret that Christ is born on the darkest point in the poor mans life who's nourishment was the very bible passages that the rich man discarded. It must be true, therefore, that the sun stopped for the Christ-mass on which Christ is born and is therefore celebrated for two rich human days. Then, John, we must live through the dreary days of winter if we would value spring, where the woods must be cold and silent (no halleluias in purgatory) before the sweetest warmest sunshine radiates from our Easter song to light up the glorious day on which evening never follows. |

In Greek: "Î*ÏŽÏ‚ μποÏ?οÏ?ν να υπάÏ?ξουν ιστοÏ?ικά στοιχεία για τον ήλιο που σταματά ότι ο ήλιος σταμάτησε εάν ο ήλιος σταμάτησε;" Hope this parses better... |

* I think William Woodsworth wrote something like "we have lost sight of this celestial see which in a moment can travel hither" because "to me alone had come a time of grief" wherein (by extension of "losing sight") the sun did come to a stop. My point was that the sun must stop before the celestial light can travel hither but it is precisely because the sun stopped that no rational account can be given that the sun stopped. To use a metaphor here "the house must be swept clean" or a herd of pigs (instead of the celestial light) will return, and if a herd of pigs returns we cannot testify to the light that came when the sun stopped because the sun did not stop and the celestial light never did come our way. See the difference between metaphor and fact? The above makes the Beatific Vision a reality to be followed by the purgation period where darkness must be separated from light to make the Beatific Life a reality -- wherefore the sun stops for the second time and Magdalene was left in the dark when Jesus was crucified. Notice also that the light of common day is only good to gather (as opposed to retain) food, wisdom and beauty. Don't forget here that life is light and light is [the continuity of] life that pre-exists the light of common day (ie. beauty is the continuity of truth and there is nothing else). |

He was just a poet who had one of those Beatific Visions and wrote about it.
