Failed to fullfill? Oh, you mean the prophecies that weren't meant to be fulfilled while Jesus was here the first time like restoring Israel and rebuilding the temple?

Actually, the earliest Biblical book is believed to have been written around 45 or 55 A.D. Revelation was the last book written, and that was around 95 A.D.

Is there anything in the OT that talks about the "messiah" coming to earth, being killed, rising again, leaving and then coming back to finish up those other prophecies? If there's no verse that mentions him leaving and then coming back to finish the job, then yeah, those prophecies would have failed.

By "earliest Biblical book," I'm sure you mean earliest New Testament book, but you'll notice I didn't say anything about the earliest NT book, I was only talking about Luke.

You're also slightly off in your dating of Revelation (albeit, not by much) and way off in your assertion that it was the last NT book written. Some of the pseudoepigraphical Epistles were written well into the 2nd century. Revelation is generally dated around 98 CE which means it most likely predates Luke, Acts and John and possibly even Mark and Matthew (according to theories which date those Gospels after the 2nd Jewish-Roman War rather than the first).

The only NT books which are universally dated before 70 CE are the authentic Epistles of Paul and according to some theories, they might be the only NT books written in the 1st century.

All Messianic prophecies are supposed to be fulfilled before the Messiah dies the first time. Any presumptive Messiah who dies before fulfilling the prophecies is not the Messiah. Those prophecies do not include any expectation that the Annointed will be born of a virgin, will be the literal offspring of God, will be God, will be a redeemer of sins, will suffer or be crucified or die or will come back to life.
