Please show me what part of this thread makes fun of Jesus? I have made fun of you, or more accurately, the things you have posted. Others have made fun of Lewis, and rightfully so. No one here is making fun of Jesus.

As far as Jesus loving me goes: I don't even have empirical proof that my own mother loves me, and she has the significant advantage over Jesus of being a living person.

I often ask myself the question: why should I believe that Jesus, if he lived at all, died for me? I always get the same answer: I shouldn't, because it is not rational.

If he loved you so much then why did he require a sacrifice at all? Why couldn't God just forgive you the way you are without having to kill a hippie? God was only saving you from himself, after all, so why not skip all the drama and let everyone into heaven with no strings attached?

So - IF there's a god who created the universe, THEN the universe is not just a natural and spontaneously existing fact, it is an unnecessary and arbitrarily created DRAMA - written (the bible), directed, and produced, by god.

Thus, god is a drama queen. Thus god is either gay - or possibly a woman.

Hello. You are not as cute as you think you are, but Jesus is the Lord who came to earth and died for your and my sins. He rose again and is now sitting at the right hand of God. He is coming again for those who believe in Him, so I guess that would make Him a lunatic or whatever in your view.

Still, I'm quite pleased that you're honest enough to admit that you personally don't want to do the right thing for your fellow man (even when Jesus said that putting yourself ahead of us is the same as putting yourself ahead of Jesus Christ), and that only by letting Jesus control you can you possibly care about us.

JesusLovesYou - I can guarantee you will get nowhere in converting us infidels to Christianity. Approximately one grown, well-read atheist in the western world converts to Christianity every decade, usually due to blunt head trauma. Grown, well-read western Christians, however, become atheists quite frequently, usually due to being grown and well-read. It's not that atheists are close-minded. It's just that the facts are on our side.

It's pretty obvious that you're a novice at this, spouting off unsupported assertion after unsupported assertion, and furiously swinging at straw men, as you are. With such tactics, I don't expect you to last long around here. You're gonna get the figurative crap beat out of you. It happens every time.
