Since I'm not sure about Spanish plurals, make that somewhere in Los Angeles with an English newspaper referring to the kids.

It’s Sunday morning at the Church of Ocean Park, a Methodist church in Santa Monica that strangely lacks overt Christian insignia: there are no crosses or crucified Jesuses decorating the walls, but the stained-glass windows do picture a bearded figure tending to a flock of sheep, with a shaft of light illuminating his head.

Beware the “Other Jesus. The most significant example of this is Jesus Himself. SRF claims affinity with Jesus, but this does not of itself prove that Jesus has affinity with them. It is crucial to note that the apostle Paul condemned those who preach “another Jesus whom we have not preached, labeling them “false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:4, 13–14). Clearly, not all who speak reverently of Jesus are to be trusted, for there are counterfeit Jesuses manufactured by diabolical forces for the purpose of promoting spiritually lethal deception.

Weiss admits, most pretentiously, gun pointed at head, that Weed Patch aims to mash together indie-rock and Americana in a sound he refers to as "fucked up folk." He wishes it recalled later-day Wilco and Sparklehorse, with nods to such personal Jesuses as Dylan, Neil Young, the Velvet Underground and the Replacements. "I should be so lucky," he jokes.

She turns the card over and over in her hands as if it were one of those trick pictures that change with different views. "Winkies," Carol calls them. She has a whole collection of winky Jesuses on her kitchen walls that go from crucified to resurrected depending on where you're standing.

When reading the bible it sometimes strikes me that, how shall I say it, there is not one Jesus who preached, but many whose teachings have been put together.

I've also juggled the thought that there may have been a man who opposed the Romans and was then Crucified.

I know this may sound horribly vague and I can't give concrete examples but the tone of The Sermon of the Mountain is radically different from the part where Jesus curses the Fig tree and the part where he says that only those who hate their family can follow him.
I think it's certainly an interesting theory that has probably had adherents in the past. As for the crucifiction, the Romans executed many, many Judeans who opposed them. It has always been my theory that there's a kernel of truth to the Gospels - i.e. there was a pharasaic preacher who preached the coming of the Kingdom of God and sure enough, the Romans didn't take to kindly to that, as to them it meant the overthrow of Roman Rule and the re-establishment of the Davidian line of Kings. Later followers took the sayings, added others to it from Pharasaic teachings and other philosophers and then embellished the events to create this god like character.
