One Jesus, many Jesii?
Despite the title I am not talking about Pirate Jesus, but of another thing
When reading the bible it sometimes strikes me that, how shall I say it, there is not one Jesus who preached, but many whose teachings have been put together. I've also juggled the thought that there may have been a man who opposed the Romans and was then Crucified. I know this may sound horribly vague and I can't give concrete examples but the tone of The Sermon of the Mountain is radically different from the part where Jesus curses the Fig tree and the part where he says that only those who hate their family can follow him. Toughts? Critique? Please excuse me for eventual typos and bad grammar. |

That's actually the basis of the historical Jesus, that there were many teachings composite in the gospels. The Jesus of Mark v. Matthew v. Luke v. John v. Paul v. James v. Thomas v. Peter etc... ad infinitum

Jesuses is standard. Jesii is pseudo-Latin.

Since I'm not sure about Spanish plurals, make that somewhere in Los Angeles with an English newspaper referring to the kids. |

The Vulgate has Iesus, Iesu, Iesu, Iesum, Iesu for Jesus, which isn't necessarily fourth since the genitive would be Iesus with a macron over the u. How about "many men named Jesus"?
