Default Are mentally disabled sinners?

All people are sinners according to the bible?
How is a child who is autistic or with similiar mental disabilities a sinner?

According to traditional Christian belief, ALL of humanity is tainted (and therefore condemned) by merely being born--original sin and other guilt trips.

Of course, many Christians will declare God to be "just and merciful" (despite a history to the contrary), and would presumably give these victims of their own bodies a free pass.

Really traditional Christian belief would say that the autism is caused by demon possession (there was a recent death by exorcism of an autistic boy - the exorcism didn't work.) Or perhaps that the autism is punishment for some sins of the parents.

But I think that this thread would do better in GRD.

Default Reformed doctrinal answer

III. Elect infants, dying in infancy, are regenerated, and saved by Christ, through the Spirit, who works when, and where, and how He pleases:so also are all other elect persons who are incapable of being outwardly called by the ministry of the Word.

Below is a link to the document I referenced.

"All people are sinners according to the bible?
How is a child who is autistic or with similiar mental disabilities a sinner?"

If I were still a practicing Christian, I would answer this as follows.

All people are born into a human nature that was wounded by the Original Sin committed by our first parents, Adam and Eve. When sin entered God's perfect creation, death and many other ill consequences entered into it.

An autistic person is not possessed. Perhaps in more superstitious times, a great majority of the people believed that autistic people were possessed. In reality, however, an autistic person is suffering from one of the unfortunate consequences of Original Sin. Toto's account of an autistic boy being exorcised and consequently dying is, I suspect, one that is extremely rare. No significant Christian authority or informed Christian would allow an autistic person to be exorcised.

Now, what is a sinner? A sinner is a person who does wrong. All wrongdoing is sin. Can autistic people do wrong? Yes; therefore, autistic people are sinners. The question is, however, how much guilt should be attributed to the autistic person for one of their sinful actions? This would depend on many factors and makes the issue complex.

God does not punish sinners directly, but their descendants to five generations. I believe such cases fall into this category. In the culture I was born in, there are no psychiatrists as mental illness and deformities are considered to be the implementation of God's Will. Consequently, there is a villiage idiot and mentally deranged person in every town and villiage.

If anyone mocks one of these persons, he faces complete ostracism for mocking God's Will. These people are well looked after as charity directed at them is considered pious. The tailor gives them a suit someone neglected to pick up, the baker gives them day old bread, the restauranteur feeds them with left over food, the rich man provides them with a hut in the mountains in exchange for looking after their flocks, etc. etc.

In my opinion, this is a much better system than the one we have in Canada which allows 100,000 homeless people to sleep in the streets.

Hola!

I have spoke on this website about "elect infants", babies that die go to Heaven (paradise), and the rest of us that lives on has the risk of going to hell.

HOW OLD does a person must be before they are responsible for their actions? Young children under 7 years old have killed out of anger (Google Flint Michigan school shooting). Children under 7 lie. Children under 7 steal. Young children exercise freewill everyday and many of them have very unique and deep personalities. How old must a person before they are responsible for their actions?

Also, what is the minimum IQ scale for free will?

Little child
Dry your crying eyes
How can I explain
The fear you feel inside
´cause you were born
Into this evil world
Where man is killing man
and no one knows just why
