Discovery CHannel Disciples SHow
Who is watching this now? Or watched it since you'll presumably see this when its over?
bad: 1) They tied in Judas Betrayal of Jesus into the perfume incident with the lady. I honestly do not remember this in the Gospels? Is it there or did they make it up? 2) They of course accepted the historicity of much that the Gospels say about the disciples. That is a problem. 3) They accepted the Lucan idea of entering Jerusalem at the end of the mission. GJohn would not agree with! Nothing is mentioned here though about the blatant gospel contradiction. 4) They tell us nothing baout followers in Paul's day. Paul's corpus predates the Gospels by many years. Not expressign the controversy evident at this time and trying to apply it to Jesus' own apostles seems very problematic. good: 1) somewhat of a little pictorial look into 1st century life---even if skewed 2) the placebo effect material 3) oh wait, they are mentioning the betaryed//handed over distinction just now.... :notworthy Vinnie |

LMFAo!!! "within days of Jesus' crucifixion there were stories of him rising from the dead" LMFAo!!!
This better be ending....if its a two hour hsow I won't be able to mak it .... "within years" would have been accurate as opposed to "within days". ..... |

So it ended good with ome nice info on religious belief and the brain. Ties in quite nicely with my panenetheism
Good info on placebo and religious belief in general. Other than that? An hour of conservativve, choir-preaching, historical misinformation. Have fun Vinnie |

Christian infomercial
I used to get upset at programs on the history of Christianity that accepted gospel stories as fact, but then I realized that the people creating these programs were just putting on an infomercial to sell the Christian religion. I now place the blame on the History channel, the Discovery channel and others who put on these programs without first warning people that these are not legitimate science programs exploring historical events, but instead just infomercials selling religion.
