Default Jesus did exist!

Many agnostics and atheists insist that Christ never existed...

Check this out: http://www.proofdirectory.com/videoindex.htm

I'm sure there are others who will be able to pick the video apart much better than I but I did not see any new arguments nor did it inflict any doubt about my own belief or rather lack of belief.

If there is anything worse than an opening post with a url and no comment, it has to be posting a link to a youtube video without a hint as to its content. And, even more annoying is to click on that url, figure out that there isn't any sound, and wait while a few images and black and white text appear on the screen. If you're just going to print text, why not show the text in a simple text file, instead of taking a still shot in a moving picture of it?

If you want this thread to stay here, list the atheists and agnostic who think that Jesus existed (or not) and give the arguments in English text.

I, and I assume a lot of other people, don't follow unlabled links.

If you'll describe what we'll find there, you can get more discussion. Ideally, you will descibe it well enough, perhaps providing some brief quotations, that we can discuss without following the link.

In any case, I doubt that it is true that many agnostics and atheists assume that Jesus never existed. A lot of us don't see any reason to believe Jesus existed; but that's no reason to assume he didn't. How would we know one way or another?

Christ is another matter. Even if Jesus existed, he couldn't be the Christ unless Jehovah existed too, right? So it's fair to assume that Christ did not exist.

Toto, check your speakers buddy

There's narration.

I get into atheist forums and discuss subjects like evolution the existence of God etc... I discovered and met a couple of ppl who really believe Christ never existed... I saw this vid on youtube about the existence of Christ with referenced records of His existence and figured it would be interesting to share around.

I did check my speakers - I turned up the sound. Nothing. I closed the page.

If you want to discuss this, list the records. The first was a claim by Justin Martyr that there were birth records of Jesus. But no one has seen them, and it's not sure how Justin Martyr, who lived well after the destruction of Jerusalem, would have found them or know about them. If this is typical of the arguments, this video is not worth it.

Next.

emmm.... well that's quite odd because there's narration and music in the background... Anyways, toto, interesting name btw, you need to see the rest of the vid. There's other quotes and points.

Okay, I found the sound.

It's the ususal apologetic crap that has been deconstructed so often in BCH. Tacitus. Josephus. The Talmud.

"If Jesus did not exist, how could the Jews reject him?" HUH?

Encylcopedia Britannica as a source? Illustrated by Da Vinci's Last Supper?

Give me a break!

CS Lewis as an authority? Do you know how many people have ripped his arguments to shreads here?

And then there is the fake statistical proof by prophecy.

Warning: this video is a complete waste of time and bandwidth.

As it happens, I have Jesus’ high school graduation picture that I bought on e-Bay. If that’s not irrefutable proof of his existence, I don’t know what is

It was interesting up to the point when they started talking about the supposed "prophecies" fulfilled all by one man. Then I knew they were full of it.
