I recall discussing this verse before in detail, but it is such a perennial favorite here that I can't locate the thread in the forrest of threads on "Jesus the bloodthirsty psycho hypocrite."
I think that the words are Jesus', not the King in the story; if they are to be ascribed to the King, Jesus is identified with the King. It only sounds psycho by our modern humanistic standards. That was how Kings were supposed to act in those days. |
