6 represents man in the Bible?
I was joking around with some girl, and I told her that the answer to life, the universe, and everything is 42 (from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). Surprisingly, she said that this was actually true, as the Bible says that 7 represents God, and 6 represents man. Since the universe was created for a relationship between God and man, 7 x 6 = 42. Of course, she thinks that pi doesn't go on forever, and the last digit is 4, so she is a little crazy.
However, my question to you is: Where does it say in the Bible that 6 represents man? I know 7 is traditionally affiliated with God, but I always though 6 represented the devil, if anything. Being the skeptic that I am, I told her I'd ask you guys about it. |

Seven planets in ancient cosmology. Thence, I think, the mystic qualities of said number. Never heard of it being specifically associated with God, except for Saint John the Divine Mushroom-Eater's rantings.

Six is also a perfect number:
1+2+3=6 1x2x3=6 28 is also such a number, but doesn't appear in the bible because the ancient sheepherders counted thusly: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,40. |
