Default Life of Pi

Happy Christmas all!

Read half of it last night. In it, Pi becomes a Hindu Christian Muslim, and provokes reactions!

His brother jokes he already has Friday, Saturday and Sunday off, add another four and he would be holidaying all week! Muslim prayers are yoga for hot areas!

The book tells the story of women dancing with Krishna, and how if anyone held to him too tightly he would disappear!

Also reading wiki entry on Seneca. It seems he is in limbo, which I did not realise is actually paradise, which sounds much nicer than the quite exhausting heaven!

Life_of_Pi

Is there a Biblical angle here? Was Seneca in the novel?

Tendentious but maybe not! Syncretism and taking it seriously, bits of this and that, why the different groups get stuck on their viewpoint.

To, compare, the discussion about priesta and kings.

And a transcendental Saturnalia to U2 Clivedurdle.

The Life of Pi took a plunge after the Christian Emperors took over the education system. Mathematicians were not highly regarded.
