Please note there is no Island of Tyre which the Phoenicains built. The only thing the present day Tyre has in common with the mighty Island city/state built by the phoenicians is the name. Richmond, Virginia exists today, does that mean that the capital of the Confederacy continues to exist? Regardless the only failed prophecy exists in the imagination of the minimalists. Please note the following source which points out the minimalist even fail to read the prophecy correctly Till's Errors Concerning Tyre by Matthew Hogan

Hilarious! I see you posted at the same time as me. Note that this article was written by a guy who later ADMITTED THAT THE PROPHECY FAILED?

...So would you mind telling us WHO cherry-picked that article and ignored the others in that debate, Arnoldo?

Do you now see the folly of trusting apologists?

And it has already been pointed out that nobody prophesied the permanent destruction and depopulation of Richmond, as Ezekiel did with Tyre. If they DID: then THAT person would ALSO be a false prophet, just as Ezekiel was.

but does it explore the variants in the lxx? (which uses 'he' throughout)

apologists cry for the masoretic text as the more difficult reading, but it seems a bit convenient that at the critical point where the prophecy would fail, a scribe would suddenly blunder and replace 'they' with 'he'.

"God" didn't say that, Arnoldo. He said the site would never be re-built. He also said Nebby would destroy it and he botched that one too.

Frankly, since Ezekiel was sitting on his ass in Babylon while all this was going on, it looks more like he was writing press releases for the Babylonians than trying to predict the future. Joseph Goebbels performed the same service for Hitler.

It's not hilarious, you are misreading the prophecy regardless of your unsubstantiated claims and arguing the definition of the word they

No, it doesn't.

LXX uses "he" throughout? Interesting! :devil1:

Nope, I am not the one "misreading the prophecy". YOU are. As your source, Matthew Hogan, agreed.

Of course, you're still ignoring Nebby's failure to do what HE was specifically prophesied to do (including his failure to rampage down all of the streets of Tyre).

7 For thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will bring up against thee, O Sor, Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon from the north: he is a king of kings, with horses, and chariots, and horsemen, and a concourse of very many nations.
8 He shall slay thy daughters that are in the field with the sword, and shall set a watch against thee, and build forts around thee, and carry a rampart round against thee, and set up warlike works, and array his spears against thee.
9 He shall cast down with his swords thy walls and thy towers.
10 By reason of thy multitude of his horses their dust shall cover thee, and by reason of the sound of his horsemen and the wheels of his chariots the walls shall be shaken, when he enters into thy gates, as one entering into a city from the plain.
11 With the hoofs of his horses they shall trample all thy streets: he shall slay thy people with the sword, and shall bring down to the ground the support of thy strength.
12 And he shall prey upon thy power, and plunder thy substance, and shall cast down thy walls, and break down thy pleasant houses: and he shall cast thy stones and thy timber and thy dust into the midst of thy sea.
13 And he shall destroy the multitude of thy musicians, and the sound of thy psalteries shall be heard no more.
