The need for glorification
As I read through various bible passages and supplemental works I can't help but notice how often sayings and messages from God ( the father) and Jesus invoke the need for thier own glorification. Mankind's place is as a subjugated, ignorant lowlife. You would think an omnipotent father would be less concerned with unwavering homage and more concerned with practical guidance.
It seems the early church leaders had an easy role in keeping their "subjects" towing the line. |

Worship
The concept of continuously worshipping the Lamb for all eternity sounds really boring!
As our first sin was to eat of the fruit of the knowlege of good and evil, maybe worshipping God is God's way to stop us thinking! |

The king said to the people: "God made you peasants, and he made me king. He made rags and hovels for you, robes and palaces for me. Such is the justice of God." And the priest said: "God made you ignorant and vile. He made me holy and wise. If you do not obey me, God will punish you here and torment you hereafter. Such is the mercy of God."
This is a quote from Robert Ingersoll. Our ability to shake off the burdens of ignorance, to ask questions without fear of torment or damnation is what has helped us all move forward. |

Try reading The Godly Art Of Child Abuse by Kevin Archer. The unreasonable demand for admiration is a form of control behavior.
