Default Interpreting Revelations

Hello there.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a book on interpreting this terribly confusing book. I currently have and am reading Bruce J. Malina's On the Genre and Messages of Revelations. Here he argues that John isn't really talking about the apocalypse. He is interpreting the sky in terms of what was happening in his day.

I know it's a theory a minority of scholars hold. I would like to know of the other views they hold and what the evidence for/against them is. I found another book called Revelations: Four Views by Steve Gregg and it looks like it might be good. I also found Breaking the Code by Bruce M. Metzger. This one also seems good.

Any comments on these books? Anyone know of a good book on the subject?

Kind of looking for an informative book, probably by a scholar, who talks about possible interpretations and which ones scholars hold and what the evidence is. I don't really want one by someone who's not a scholar (I don't think).

All I know about Revelation is that I don't want any of whatever the author was on.
