Default F.C.Conybeare, "Historical Christ"

In 1914 the Rationalist Press published this work by the Armenianist scholar, F. C. Conybeare:

The Historical Christ; or, An investigation of the views of Mr. J. M. Robertson, Dr. A. Drews, and Prof. W. B. Smith (1914)

The work is a demolition of the claims of the Jesus-myth writers of the period, by an atheist. I don't know who scans stuff for the Infidels Library, but has this volume been considered?

All the best,

Roger Pearse

That looks interesting, and doesn't appear to be on the web. Do you have a copy that you are volunteering?

It's not clear that Conybeare was an atheist. Wikipedia notes that his position on Christianity was hard to discern. But his association with the Rationalist Press would make him a candidate for the historical section of the II library.

I don't know whether II is interested in adding to the Historical Section. The person who would know would be Don Morgan - the easiest way to contact him would be to post this request in the Feedback Forum, which he monitors.

Many thanks for the note, which I will follow up.

I don't own a copy, I'm afraid. I came across the work by accident while working through a bibliography of Conybeare's works, and read it in the rare books section of a university library this afternoon.

All the best,
