Default Jim Walker says that there is no credible evidence that a historical Jesus existed.

Comments please.

The parable of a diffident TV repairman.

Jesus said, the kingdom of heaven can be likened to a diffident TV repairman who reads a graffiti on a washroom wall. Perturbed, he returns to his workbench and confesses: 'master, I have seen a philosopher's writ on the wall of the john, saying "if you read this you are a knuckle-head" '. And the master asks, "How do you know it was a philosopher who wrote that ?". And the apprentice answers, "it is so, master, for I am afraid it is true".

Verily, I say to you, those of little faith who come to me will hardly find relief in me.

Johnny Skeptic did ask for comments.

There's nothing really new here, Johnny. What were you looking for?

Do you assume that everyone who comes to this forum is aware of what is old?

I like to assume they know how to use the search function.

I just skimmed a few parts of it. That was all I could stand, it's such a pathetic presentation.

I skimmed it too, but I don't know what you mean when you say it's pathetic. Are you saying that his claims required special pleading, or possibly inadequate support? Were they rehashed comments on thoughts already held?

I have read the information provided by the site and I agree with it fundamentally. There is no historical reference by any historian in the 1st century of a Jesus, son of Mary and the Holy Ghost, as described in the NT.

I was afraid somebody would ask that

A proper response is going to require more of my undivided attention than I give it right now. I have a history paper due on Friday. Fortunately, it's almost done, so I should be able to address your questions sometime before the end of the week.
